gear linkage wont go in first/second

hi i have put a new gearbox in my car and some times it wont go in first or second i have adjusted the gears use a 4.5mm drill bit like your ment to but still not going in first and second at times can any one help thanks dan

was the gearbox you fitted f**ked in the first place ie did it go in easy before you fitted it ??

you've probably got some wear in the linkage.
