I was watching that on eBay. You got that for a good price. Be nice to follow your progress

If you can get that rot sorted then you've got a decent buy on your hands as the GTE in black is getting very rare ;)

Makes me sick to think I sold my GTE to vauxhall performance spares centre 4 yr ago for under £200 :( i bought mine for £600 6 years prior! ( 10 years ago now ) selling up is one of the few things I regret in my life.

Ive had to keep mine totally standard to get classic insurance, just watch out depending what insurance you get.they wanted an extra £60 off me just to put grooved discs on mine!

As i did with my nova back in the day,to make it look a bit cleaner, then i was left with all the little pins sticking out after the strips were off.that was on a 'B' reg 1.2L i think the later ones were just stuck on

When a car is Q plated, can you put a private plate on to get rid of the Q, that would bug me if it was mine.
Does the Q plate process even exist anymore?

Nice find though good luck with the work :)

Was just wondering that myself lol you never see Q plates around these days, used to see a fair few round here

Looks a good base for a project mate, keep it up!

afaik there's no Q plates anymore, they just get on a random age related plate, shame really, quite cool having a Q plate. Also I don't think you put a private plate a Q either.

can be swapped back to its orignal reg after so many years on a q though i,m sure

Q plates still exist. Now they're used for cars tha fail the 8 point inspection, radical modifications/reshells etc.

These days they should be seen as more of a badge of honour - and will be in time imo.

Lovely looking GTE btw mate, and I like the plans. Standard!
