Digi dash problem

I've got a mk2 astra digi dash in my nova van, when i turn the ignition on the digital part all lights up ok but the warning lights at the bottom (low brake fluid, engine managment etc) dont. Are they suppose to as every other car ive been in do light up when you turn on the ignition so you know if the bulbs have blown :confused:

Is the black plug clipped in properly and pcb in good condition as a wire track may be split
