Grind some of ghe inlet off, youll see the lump, you can dither bend it or cut it flush, either way works.

Yep other thing would be to get a new clutch cable instead of second hand. Carry a spare in the boot too.

Exactly this ^^^^^

Mine went three hours after passing the mot, the brass thing in the bulkhead as been trimmed at an angle by Andy when he had it, and i now also carry a spare in the boot, along with a socket set to be able to fit it, you will need the shelves from under the dash out of the way, and the SFi box removing (if youre running one)

Its alright having a spare cable but if it fails and you need to pull bits off to get in, and you have no tools, then you wont be fitting the new one at the roadside lol

Seconded... When I had my nova as an everyday car when I was working at Aston Martin's HQ, I pulled onto the M40, went to put it in 3rd and the pedal hit the floor. Luckily had a spare in the boot and changed on the side of the road in a shirt and tie lol.

I looked in the back of the car this evening and found 2 spare cables :)

On my 3xe, i broke 4 2nd cables in about 2months, out of the blue. Bent the bracket bit with a bar and never had the prob again. Yet i still carry a brand new cable with me in the boot.
