well good luck on finding an engine. its bascially get it from anywhere that has 1, which isnt many places. might be easier buying a written of cav/cally turbo. not many places do fiting and they r expensive. you not wanna do it yaself?

ooh just noticed ur from scotland :)

translates as even harder to find a written of cally turbo or similar

and even even harder to get anyone to do it for you!!!!!!

TBH if i was doing it all over again i would fit a normal 2ltr 16 valve engine and not bother with the turbo lump, they are far more hassle and a pain in the ass. You need either a F28 gearbox fitted, Quaife internals in a F20 or be prepaired to change a STD F20 every few months due to the gears stripping and thats just with standard power. Rick

I think the main misconception with any conversion is that you can just bolt in an engine and off you go. You have got to be prepared to continue the work on the whole thing to keep it upto together, its not as simple as people make out.

i am currently fitting one in my nova, more of a headache than the NA 2l 16v i fitted in my last nova due to the added pipework to turbo/throttle body/complete lack of space with the turbo in place near the rad, bespoke frame needed to hold slimline rad (nova one too big). and they r apparently always going wrong once they are running!stick with a NA valver mate

Yup.. coming from another turbo owner... stick to an XE. Everything is just so much more expensive and harder to do! You would not like to see my bank account trust me :o

i was debating building a 2L turbo next year but im having second thoughts after reading this! might just go for another Valver they are very handy to fit :)

Ste you know that bolting them in there is the easy part, its keeping them on the road that is the pain in the arse.

Bloody hell :o I can see it now you've pointed it out, it ain't that obvious from just looking at it for some reason. No water pipes to turbo must be dodgy.
