Hi all,
was wondering what is the best setup of an exhaust for a nova GTE so i dont loose power. which manifolds are best? keep the silencer or get a race tube? and what size back box, 2" or 3"?

cheers JP360 :thumb:

IMO a 4-2-1 manifold and a magnex three box system

the factory 4-2-1 is better than most 4-1 setups for road torque on a std engine..

basically a decent straight thru backbox will add a few hp.

and a full replacement performance system will do the same..

the tailpipe does nowt for performance, its just for sound & looks

what other engine mods are done?

there are none at the moment but the plan is to put an after market cam in it (once i know which one to use and find one) after market air filter, port and polish and fuel pressure regulator.

fpr is a waste of money.

you can drill out the bottom of the original air filter box & use a k&n panel filter to get good results for less..

porting & big valves will release most power..

but the std 4-2-1 is still a pretty good piece of kit. c612dnm used to race them & reckons they were the best power.

what engine do i get bigger valves out of or are they custom made?

the 20seh valves are bigger, the stems will fit & are a similar length, and i believe were what blydenstein fitted in his b+ heads.

are they the same as c20ne valves?

yes. do you know a decent engine recon man to fit new seats?

no, is it a techincal job? was going to give it a go my self lol

erm, an engineering workshop has to cut the old valve seats out, fit larger ones & then die grind in the ports..

The Eurorallye 2" 2 box system is pretty nice.
