c14se corsa sri 8v engine into nova sr - suspected vss problem

just done this conversion and its cutting out when i dip the clutch with eml cuming on and off, the k reg corsa never had a vss fitted to the gearbox but im reading that it needs one ? using inj tank, changed c02 sensor and im stuck now. any help would be appriciated thanks.

Does it idle ok and when you rev the engine does it drop back down to idle speed
