Well heres the latest pics. Took the 1st cast from the initial master but unfortunetrly the heat generated from the hot melt rubber exploded the clay and destroyed most of the upper section! :o :x :o

Luckily I managed to salvage the lower section so rebuilt it using another type of moddeling material (DAS) - more heat resistent (sets in the oven at 200'c!)

Rebuild allowed me to tweek some areas missed before and this new materials much more carvable = more detail!

:D

Heres the pics -

next step is to clean up the back end, set an angle at the lower 1/4 of the sides (1/2 way down the door theres a line that runs the length of the nova) - add lines for panels and the windows - then seal it and cast it using (most likely) Silicone Rubber

Once thats done I can start work on the underside - anyone got any underside pics of the nova??? :?

Kind of know what it looks like - its only for a rough outline...

Once thats done, I can work on the add ons (front lights, grill, bumpers, side skirts etc...)

Plan is to get one completed in time for trax so people can actually see it = know what theyre getting for their money...

cheers Dave - I was kind of after the middle to back sections...

Have a pretty good idea - its more where the rear springs/suspension/axle sir in relation to everything else I'm after.

Pics of my Powerflow being fitted, hope it helps.

BTW, how are you resolving the MK1/Mk2 issue?

ade

excellent! Cheers m8!

mk1/mk2 issue not a problem - only real major difference is the front section - plan to make different bumpers for most models anyway.

You'll see from the pics the front section (lights/grill etc) is not there - plan is to make 2 - a mk1 and a mk2 - lights and grill. For the mk2 it'll just stick on - for the mk2 - I need to blend it in on the side slightly - 2 minute jobby.

:D

Bumpers etc, like proper kits can be scaled down and fitted. Anything goes pretty much.

I plan to scale down various light fittings (punto, beemer, VW) and rebuild the front - the whole idea is to see a modded car in minature before forking out a bomb on the full kit.

Lets you have a model of the nova you always wanted!

djp's shouldnt be a problem to copy - as long as theres enough pics of it. Amazing what you can do with milliput, plaster and a dremmel!

Unfortunately the "1st in the queue honour" goes to Mike, then Slim Jim, if I remember correctly.

I will however add those interested to the ever growing list (now with about 30 people on it! :o )

I'm off work the next 2 days and this weekend so hoping to get a real crack on with it - will have the top cleaned up and the underside ready for casting in theory by the weekend...

Thanks for the comments!
