Must you grease a rocket cover gasket ?

Hi guys just wondering when changing a rocket cover gasket for a new one as its leaking must I grease it , it's for a 1 litre mk1 , I was told you don't need to as its a caulk one

I'm new to this so bear with me lol thanks pete

my engine builder doesnt on my race engines so just chuck it on lol

I greased mine on advise from an old skool mechanic and so far, no leaks ;)
