When you first turn the ignition on you should here the pump run for a second or two,if it doesnt id check the fuel pump relay and the wires.
Also the external pumps are easily damaged if muck gets dragged through, the filter is rather stupidly after the pump???
I fitted a new tank to my old gte due to a leak and muck must have got dragged into the pump and it seized, you could still hear the pump buzz slightly if you put your ear next to it as though it was trying to spin, but wouldnt as it was seized.
Alot of injection vauxes use the same external pump,i got mine off a cav in a scrappy for a fiver.
