Tires rubbin

I need help with a tire problem with my MK 1 1.4 SR i have got 15" vauxhall tigra alloys on it with 195-50-15 tires. I have been told to simply get rid of the alloys coz there too wide for the car coz on one side the tire is rubbin the anti rollbar and on the other it is rubbin the side of the gearbox and the cars earth strap this occurs when near full lock. Someone suggested using wheel spacers but then it would not be able to be lowered coz the tires would be outside the arches and probobly illegal anyway has anyone else had this problem an does anyone know a way round or does it mean new alloys?

i wouldnt have thought that these alloys would have been that bad, but hay ho. It means new alloys really.

Wheel spacers will work, but its not advisable if you aint doing any arch mods, if you really wanna keep them.

whell spacers and flared arches, or wide arch kit?

this is usual with 195 tyres.... just don't full lock it loads... or get some rack limiters

wear the tyres out quick and get some new ones that are smaller

i also had this problem with my little girl(nova) with a set of tigra alloys, i had 185 55 R15 on, i just had the number of turns adjusted, so one side you get more turns than the other, you will never notice when driving. It only a 1/4 turn different from side to side, i think, does mean you have to take on steering wheel and re centralise i remember that part.

this problem has only ever happened to me when using tigra alloys, but on a mates 16`s and they where fine, how bizarre.

i miss my little nova, must import it soon and beat all these Ozzy mussel cars, got an HSV clubsport :D at moment over here its can fast and cany nice to look at but its no nova. The nova never made it to Oz they have this car which looks like a swift, the corsa(barina) is here but no nova :( holden must have been mad not to have nova. Dame Ozzys, they may have nice weather and a good life style but when it comes to cars they missed out all the good ones, nova, escort cosworth, and actually anything cosworth.
