My diesel is cutting out? any ideas?

Basically I was running the derv up to temperature and when I reved i noticed it started to miss. the more I reved it the worse it got, It is fine on idle, but gets worse and worse from around 2000 RPM. I have eliminated the new turbo etc by removing the boost pipe.

Only thing I could see it being is pump timing.

Any ideas?

Engine has just had the head off and cleaned up but that's about it.

fuel filter??? if it runs good at idle, but rough when revved, its usually some crap in the diesel. change the filter first. the injectors might need doing, as its a fair age.

Could be an air leak on a fuel line and drawing air into the fuel.

I think it down to the dodgy 522 plant filter fitted, going to get a CAV filter housing and try again.
