fuel pressure regulator

i fitted an early gte engine into my gsi today but noticed on the fuel rail instead of the regulator there is a silver rectangular thing blocking it off with about a 8mm hole with a tread at the end???what is it i though it maybe could have had a boost valve fitted???can i just put the 1 off my gsi straight onto it???

my guess is that it is an manually adjustable pressure regulator

if not sure about it then stick the std. one on

Yes this is part of a Boost valve fitment, remove it and fit the gsi one.
