Mk 1 Astra!

Is it really bad that this is slowly becoming a car i really want, wether its because sam has an astra or because they just look so nice i dont know. But i know i really want one. Thoughts on this car? and what other cars do you want alongside your nova?

i want my nova, a manta with 400 kit and cibies, and an e46 m3 (these 3 are my 3 must haves). The rest of my want list changes weekly. This week i'd also really like an e28 m535i and a sapphire cosworth.

Mk1 Astras are cool as fook, just getting very hard to find a decent one :( I want a Mk2 GTE 16v then hopefully one day I'll own a Mk1 or Mk2 Escort. A Ford 100e with an engine conversion would be good too lol

Opel Kadet Coupe GT/E, Chevette HSR, E46 M3(CSL would be nice), 80's Porsche 911(there is a lovely rare F plate spider near my work) Land Rover Defender 90 and the ultimate an Aston Martin Vantage V12. There are plenty more. If I won the lottery I would probably blow it all on cars.

Cream sounds nice! Nice and Retro! Would be a shame to waste it sitting around doing nothing. When i get a nova saloon it wil be brown or cream, so if i get a mk1 Astra it would have to be a bright in your face color like a cherry red or bright yellow :d the Orange one thats always at billing and pv is beautiful!

i had an x reg opel kadett...i paid £20 for it, and got another car in spares... then got another one for a tenner as a donor, and made one pretty good one out of the 3... it wasn't the plan, but i actually got the first one as an engine donor for my 1.2+1.3=1.4 engine project... i made what was left into a runner & then the mrs ran it for a good while... then when my first nova was written off, i stuck the 1.4 into the kadett & ran it for about a year... then i stuck an e16se in it, and it was hilarious.. on brand new suspension (back gate from a large warehouse.....cash) and 175/70r13's... it could take oxford speed humps at over 60mph...

i also took it to nuneaton college to do an introduction to bodywork evening class.. the other students would go to the store & find a mini bonnet, i'd remove a door, or a wing & stroll in with it under my arm.. i got it straight in 7 weeks, but it looked like one of those harlequin polo's....lol i sprayed it badly in carmine red & used it until the floor rotted out of it...

I want to fit a bigger I/C as it's running the standard Calibra one, but I don't want to chop the bumper up. So i'll take my time and fiddle to get it right.
It was going to be at Billing this year but when I saw the forecast I went in the Vectra instead.

Most on the mk1oc have been from base spec cars as usually the GTE had the sound deadener which acted like a sponge and rotted the bulkhead from the inside. The pov spec models came without it, and that's why they're still around lol

Ive had 12 over the years and had one as my 1st car.Got a 3dr estate now ive rebuilt and just got the paint to do,its china blue which is abit boring so going for something more bright.
Great cars and really handle well with just a decent lowering kit.

There is one round here somewhere, four door with a cherry bomb type exhaust, it turned down a sideroad in front of me a few weeks back, i slowed right down to listen to it rasping down the lane as he booted it, got a few annyed beeps from the drivers behind me lol



I think mk1 astra's just look like a giant mk1 nova, therefore epic cool :d

Although to be fair that wouldn't be beside the Nova, it would be replacing it lol

If it had to be something Vauxhall, then maybe an old Firenza or Viva, but thats unrealistic really. Monaro would be nice, but if I had the money for that then I'd be spending it on classic American instead!

No spudly its not ecks he`s from cumbria i think.It belonged to a guy called john who used it as a test bed for putting the LEH into a mk1.With it being a more door its not worth all that much so i suppose it didnt matter if he had to redo afew things.Once he got it all in and working he took it out and built the orange one thats done the shows the past couple of years.
John fitted an xe and sold it to carl from Bev who`s also got a very very nice opel kadett coupe.
God i sound like a right stalker.
