I'm a welder, just take your time and keep the welder turned down low last thing you want is making more holes, the splash guards you can turn the welder up a tad and tack in place then fully weld it in sections like a 4-5inch run at a time, if you was closer i could of done it for you, if you need any more advice drop me a pm.

1st and most important.Learn to weld.
Then practice on scrap car metal,as that and clean steel sheet is very different to weld.

Also if you weld it right and have the welder set up right your weld should look like a row of coins, and when welding make sure you get as much paint off as possible and is clean from dirt and grease

What type of welder have you got? Have you got an auto darkening mask or hand held black glass jobbie?

The sealey welder is not bad for what your doing and as for the sill's i would replace them and the splash gaurds you can make yourself buy using card then tracing round on a bit of zintec steel sheet

if nova's were brand new now i reckon welders would of come as standard with and a free course on welding instead of a free years insurance...

Price depending on who you go to could be free to £20-40 and also how much you will need, if your doing splash gaurds you could do it with 1.2mm thick zintec sheet

skin sill i dont think you can get a full sill anymore but i may be wrong as for the welding you need to pulseweld not seam weld as you will blow holes galore !

if youre going to weld zintec wear some form of breathing mask. Zinc isnt a pleasent thing to be breathing in.

oh and you need a minimig adaptor for that, just search ebay, they are like £11. although if you plan to do a lot of welding, get a big bottle from a welding place.
