Hi guys,

Recently bought a 1.4 SR with twin 40 webers on. Trying to fit a manual choke cable but as its a twin carb would I also need a bracket to connect levers? Or do you need special choke cable kits?

Have no experience with twin 40's so any input is appreciated.

I've never had a choke cable on my twin40 set up, I don't think they have as much trouble starting from cold as the standard carbs. Do need to keep the revs over 1000 for a short time, but its not for long so I don't mind it.

Most people never fit them.

Mine was fine even in the middle of winter, all you need to do is press the throttle once or twice then turn the key and up she'll go.

I never use choke on my Sport, doesn't do a great deal anyway. To fit the cable you will need to cut more of the sleeve off the standard cable. Most choke levers on DCOE's pull on from left to right so the cable would need to come round from the passenger side so it needs a long cable. The Sport choke levers pull from right to left so better for a RHD choke cable

Thanks for all the info and help lads, will leave fitting one now. The twin 40s came off a Gsi nova so i think they just need setting up properly.
