Free laptop protection

My antivirus free trial that came with it has run out.... Any free program's I can download? :thumb:

Malware Bytes and Avast are my favourites at the moment. If you're running windows, the MBSA is a good tool for finding any missing patches.

I find AVG to be a bit resource-heavy tbh.

Microsoft do a free one. Thats what I have.

I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials from AVG, which used to be good but started slowing down the computer way too much.

MSE and AVG are two different products - if you had AVG though that probably will slow things down!

Cheers all. Downloaded avast.... and as i know fcuk all about and of this wizardry, it appears to be fine lol

I have AVG, i've used it for years because it was free and didn't hog the resources, times have changed and it just takes up all my ram now so need to change, right now its using 157MB and at times goes upto 250MB and thats just the AVG agent program
