what are you on about, an inline fuel pump?? or fuel lines??

basically if you are still on carbs, the std mechanical one is fine.

i put my filter between the mechanical fuel pump and carb works a treat and easy to change

i used to put them on the inlet pipe before the pump, that way, the pump doesn't suck too much nasty stuff in, no pics as i've been efi since 1994, i simply cut the rubber hose a couple of inches above the nylon pipe & jubilee clipped it in place

I also just cut the inlet pipe that goes between the inner wing and pump. I fit the cheap clear flters so I can see when it needs changed.
