wonder is he survived?
Yep, that's a mess. Happened in Jan 2006 and there were passengers on board the 737-500.

What i fined most interesting is the lack of any bone structure and how very little of the turbine blades has broken!

they are stainless steel scott lol
I thought the blades where titanium?
And I was supprised at the amount of damage to the blades tbh
Can't see the fingers pic :( Not making an account just for a piccy

By the time the flesh/bones got anywhere the turbine blades it'd be a mulsh anyway so wouldn't damage them. (You can't see any turbine blades in the pictures either as they're in the middle of the core engine)
they are stainless steel scott lol
No they're not. They'd be as heavy as hell if they were stainless.

As it's a CFM the fan blades will be titanium. Not the hardest material.
The Blade damage will be from (ironically) Hard hat, belt, watch etc as well as any bones
Don't need to create an account, just scroll down!
they are stainless steel scott lol
Cobalt titanium. There completely hollow aswell.
The little exhaust turbine blades are around £5k each. Theres 3 rows with, at a guess, about 50 per row. The massive intake blades are about £25k each.
Its literally is amazing watching them being machined ;) ;)

They are indeed titanium.I work for Rolls at the plant where im based we make the produce the wide chord fan blades (the ones at the front).
Heres a vid of one of the tests they carry out at Derby.

Have a look at some of the other videos of the engine tests, very intresting. (well it is to me lol)

Don't wish death on anyone, least of all like that, but that comment made me flol!
its pretty obvious that not all of the person went thru the engine.. a bird strike can blow one of those things up... he went in arms & head first.. they removed the rest of the corpse

Well the spooky thing is. I inspect your Wide Core Fan Blades before they get built into the 01 module, then when built.
What do you do? (you can PM me)
That Video of the T500 Bird ingestion test was done at Hucknall.

I work inthe maintenance department for fans. Basically looking after CNC, SPF presses, bonders, welders (you get the idea).
How long have you worked for Rolls?
