C20xe alternator powers ecu

Does any one no if the ecu on c20xe needs alternatour to run from start up as I don't have mine on as it's the first time I started it since project but it seems to be holding revs at 2000rpm and very smelly of petrol from exhaust.

I did come across that the ecu was a bit temp as it would start and thdn if I give it tap it starts ok. Same with fuel pump should it prime before start up.

No you don't need the alt, when I killed mine at Oulton Park, I drove 50-55miles home without one, all that will happen is the battery will go flat as its not getting charged

The furl pump also doesn't prime on a xe
