Hydraulic tapet limits??

Whats the ruff guidelines to maximum rpm on hydraulic tappets?

The engine in question will be one of the 16v 1600 engines.

Peak rpm will only be on acceleration and not for a prolonged duration.

SBD quote 7750 on the x16, but nowadays (higher mileage etc), I wouldnt go more than 7500

7500 it will have to be then lol

With solid tappets do they need checking every so many miles, feeler gauges etc

I'd say check soon after build/run in, then only once a year after that

Mine have been in for a few years, but then I have done about ten miles! The solids will start to tap/rattle when they need attention...
