Ite folks, wired up Lucas rev counter to 1400 nova today and the needle just goes upto 3000 revs and jus stops there even if ur revin higher. Any ideas or is rev counter f****d? Cheers

I bet you've wired it up wrong. I'd say if the needle shots straight up to one position and stays there no matter what engine speed then you've given it a fixed +12v feed rather than a fed from the tacho/coil green wire on a nova, which would have a variable voltage. Try checking your wiring again.

If not, find a set of clocks from a higher spec nova that already has a rev counter. They'll fit straight in and all the wiring is already there (which if IRRC is a green wire with a spade terminal on the end)

Doesnt shoot straight up,The needle moves with the revs up and down until it reaches 3000 revs. It has 4 wires; illumination,coil,earth and switched live. Cheers anyway

it could be faulty.
