I'm getting near the end of my Nova's rebuild/hibernation, and I've just completely refreshed the driveshafts making them look all new again. Which led me to notice in the Haynes that I'm missing the torsional damper thing that bolts on to the longer shaft. So I was wondering if anyone has driven a Nova both with and without the damper, so will know if it makes any noticeable difference? I wont bother tracking one down if it doesn't help at all. Also can anyone explain the science behind it too? :)

Despite having the same running gear as a GSi, the SRi never had one whereas the GSi did. I fitted one to mine years ago as it was only £6 and can't honestly say it's made any difference. If it did it must have been so slight I don't remember.

Nice one, I don't think I'll make the effort to put one on the car then. I assumed they were fitted to every Nova, so perhaps my 1.3 SR never had one, rather than some previous owner taking it off as I imagined.
