Change oil and filter, spark plugs and run some petrol flush through the system and give it a good run in before you take it, all i used to do when i was at a garage

What flush would you recommend? The oil and filter are new the spark plugs might need changed though.

Redex is usually good, quite cheap aswell if you dont get it from a motor factors, places like tesco/asda sell it for around £4

Cheers mate :thumb:. Just waiting on them phoning me. Hopefully it will pass but if not Redex and new plugs it shall be.

Adjusting the carb should just do it, the limits 3.5 % co which is quiet tolerable.

No point using fuel system flush... it does naff all these days. Would be cheaper and better to run with a tank of Momentum/Vpower/Excillium etc

Nova passed its mot :). The garage tuned the carb and reduced the gaps on the plugs. Will hopefully get better mpg lol. Cheers to all that gave me advice :thumb:.

I'm so pro at tuning my carb due to having to do it so much, using a timing light and co2 gas analyser takes me about 2 mins now lol
Makes the biggest difference to the small block carb engines in terms of efficiency.
