My gte is getting a weak spark at two of the cylinders when starting, the strange thing is the spark is stronger after letting the key go.wondered if this could be a wiring fault? Car got new coil, leads, distributor, ign module, plugs etc.
Just wondered if anybody had came across anything like this before?
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Craig

Sounds like your battery is passed its best. Its trying to supply enough current to turn the starter motor under load as well as provide the spark etc. Once the starter motor isnt turning, once you've let go of the key, the battery can provide more for the coil and therefore give you a better spark.
Try hooking up some jump leads between your car's battery and another car's battery, then try looking at your spark. If it improves it then you should get your battery tested and probably replaced.

Just my thoughts...

any signs of arcing (black deposits) on the ends of the leads at the dizzy cap end?

Try earthing the battery neg with a jump lead to the chassis also, just to test if the earthing is poor.
