what bolts do you use to mount a engine to your engine stand?
i was wondering if i should buy some threaded bars cut them up and get some nuts and washers, but is there a easier way?
How about the gearbox-to-block bolts? If they're not long enough just get a couple of longer ones in the same thread (M12?)

is that what you used when you rebuilt yours mate?
I think so. Maybe. Can't really remember lol
I used long gearbox bolts for the top and steel screwed rod for the bottom as the bottom holes on the block are not threaded

ive always used threaded bar which has never let me down and easyier than trying to find gearbox bolts which are actually long enough
not to be rude, but if you can't get the engine onto the stand, are you sure you'll be up to rebuilding it?? lol lol

when i googled it everyone was saying gearbox bolts, but seems as i have none to hand i wasn't sure if they would be to short
You might need some to hold the box onto the engine at some point lol

soon find out, im thinking of just shoving the engine i have now into it and get it working then buying a 2nd engine to fully rebuild, that way i can take my time.

if i was to buy a bulk order of bolts ect what sizes would i be needed/most common on a nova?
No one-size-fits-all really, need an array of lengths

getting ahead of my self as usual, so gearbox bolts should be good enough then
cheers lads
Just get some threaded bar, much easier
and bolt it onto the side of the block, on the engine mount points etc.. that way you can actually do the flywheel and clutch on the stand.
