What dizzy?

What dizzy should be run on a 14nv? It has a c14 head if that makes any difference?

the head makes no difference to the cam, is it a peg or slot drive on the cam?

if its slot, then you need to be looking for old 1300 type stuff.

The original dizzy cap was an orange one which was a peg drive, but when all wired up correctly produced no spark, so was changed to black cap dizzy which is a slot drive and has a bright blue spark. Would it need a different coil?

I changed this on my 1.4, from the bosch orange cap to the delco remmy black cap. The whole llot is a complete swap, distributor, coil and leads.

Any 1.2 or 1.3 carb engine should have this on.

I marked where the old distributor sat so the new one went exactl the same place, tunre dthe key and hey ho.

I cant get it started, coughs splutters pops n bangs, but wont fire up!! :-(

first things first.

make sure the leads are in the right place. you'd be amazed how often one goes on wrong...a mate of mine even had to correct a garage when they couldn't get his car to work right
