The pro stuffs reet good Ive found. Got quite a bit, adapters, extensions, breakers an that.

I get a lot of Draper Sealey Pro tools cheap too via a friend of mine. 3/8 drive socket set with ratchet/extensions/deep soc/shallow soc/spline drives all in one case for like £40 when the shelf price is nearly £100.

Depends what things need to be torqued upto really. The sole reason I bought a lower NM torque wrench from halfords was to change a set of XE main bolts one sunday afternoon lol

Mine was no more than £15 - TBH anything with a 1/2" drive is going to be strong enough to what it's rated for.

You should be fine on an engine rebuild with both Halfords ones. Good savings to be had with a trade card on these, you're welcome to borrow mine if you want.

ffs, you need one that does about 25nm, so don't break the bank.. Get a decent telescopic wheel bar or breaker bar for the proper tightening of the head bolts & invest in, or if tight, like me, make a 360o angle gauge...
Unless you are planning to run a workshop full time, your torque wrench will spend its life gathering dust on a shelf, so don't waste the coin, that KA won't buy itself you know....lol lol

The tightest nut I'll ever need to torque on my transit is my front hub nut 420nm :d how long is the handle to do 1000nm lol

I got mine from machine mart, £19.99, it worked fine for me, but I do agree it just sat there gathering dust since I rebuilt my engine

it is about 6', and comes in a plastic case that looks like one for a snooker cue, but when you pick it up one handed, its effing heavy

we had to fit the vbg coupling on our wagon & drag, and there was a nut that needed to be 2000nm.. so we got a 1"drive impact socket(70 quid), chocked it with a massive crow bar thru the jaw, and got the lorry wheel windy gun, set the compressor to 140psi & hung on...
then the vbg field service bloke appeared & said, thats exactly how we do them...

BTW you don't need to keep the Halfords receipt to keep your lifetime guarantee, you merely need to prove you bought the item from Halfords, it's not too hard considering they have Halfords written down them lol

Got mine from here, To be fair it's a top bit of kit, Cured my knock sensor fault so must be accurate because anything over or under 20nm it doesn't function..... (yay for VW)

I've never produced a receipt for any of the tools I've returned. Probably taken back 10 or so things, to 3 different branches. They just take your old one, hand you a new one and you walk out the shop feeling like you've nicked it lol

I mean, what purpose does the receipt actually serve? They know you purchased it from Halfords because it says HALFORDS down the side of it, and they know it's still in warranty because it's a lifetime warranty, and the earth hasn't been swallowed up by the sun yet lol

Every time Ive taken owt back to Halfords (tool wise) Ive been asked for receipt on both occasions (once broke end clean off a brand new 24" breaker bar, other was a T55 torx sheared in half the day I bought it). Both times they said keep the recipet incase it breaks again.

They should ask for receipts, this is why people sell them on eBay lol
