In the process of removing all the seat mounts out of my MK2 shell, drilling through the spot welds of the mounts then using a chisel to break the mount off where a little of the weld is left but its tearing and looks a **** and quite frankly is embarrising to look at, short of using a bigger drill bit to get all of the weld does anyone have any suggestions how to prevent it? it makes me angry just looking at where ive been as its looks so ****e lol:mad:lol

8mm ones are usually big enough for the Nova spot welds. I use the ones from Screwfix with good effect.

Unfortunately the seat mounts are an absolute pain to do neatly. I ruined the floor in mine too.

You can give up and grind the parts that stick up and leave the bit welded to the floor, or carry on and fix what's left behind (weld up the holes and grind back)
