imobiliser wrong signal

Fault code 85 - imobiliser wrong signal

Anyone shed any light on this ? Putting a X16XE into a nova saloon.

I have wired uo the vss as follows :

Earth
Ignition Live ( whilst cranking )
Speed signal to transponder

I only have one wire in the engine bay which i've connected to the battery +

I have wired in the transponder ring as follows :

Red - + 12v
Black - Ign live ( whilst cranking )
Blue / Red - Speed signal to ecu loom
Blue / Red - Speed signal to vss
Brown / blue - ecu light
Brown - earth

Anyone have any ideas ?

I have spark, i have fuel. EML is not flashing, it comes on then goes off as usual.

Just relaised that i dont have spark whilst cranking, soon as i stop cranking it sparks a little, obviously something is wrong somewhere, as for the wrong imobiliser signal i think that is an old ecu code as i removed the blue/red and it just flashed at me. Connected it back up and the light goes out when it should do
So presuming its working ok on that side.

Tried a new coil pack and made no difference.

I forgot to add that i do have 12 volts at the coil multiplug when cranking.

Also if it makes any difference im running the fuel pump from a live switch, never had a problem before.

There is plenty of pressure at the fuel rail, maybe its no going into the injectors ? although the spark plugs smell of fuel.

Plugs are wet so getting fuel through the injectors
Cleaned all the earths and still nothing
There is good compression
New spark plugs fitted

Have a feeling I'm missing something , somewhere
