Hi all picked up a shell earlier this week, haven't had chance to get under properly or see the inner wings yet, but looks fairly clean so far

needs a wing and a door definitely, and there seems to be what looks like a crack on both front turrets (last few pics), but will need to investigate further anyone seen this before? (only noticed after i uploaded pictures....

been a little lazy mate i havent had chance to properly inspect them yet but thats a job for this week ;o)

the plan is sort it out with a new front panel, make sure its had all the strengthening plates fitted, seam weld it and then the big idea is a let buts lets see if the wife and two kids have to say about that ;o)

i really need to now save up and get a pair of sills and a front panel and get this thing welded then seam welded shut.

would really be useful if someone in the know could pop round and give it a poke and make sure i've spotted all the rust.

ok little update, bought a few things for the car , got front panel and 1 sill off ben doodar (cheers mate) so i will get that done when a few dry days can be put aside. also picked up a astra gsi phase 2 interior and steering wheel. I really like the seats, feel like my old gsi ones. so i will be fitting these very soon too. the backs need trimming to my nova bench.

Are you running rear disc? You have 3 plates welded on where the hub will sit... Have you had this beam on the car?

Benn I was going to run discs but changed my mind so the disc setup is on the bay currently. After much research drums are the way way forward

i think i may be able to shed some light on this as i sold lew the axle, the car i took the axle off was a wide arch project and i never gave it any thought till now but maybe the extra plates was to widen the wheel base.

yeah i never gave it a thought before but now you mentioned it, lew youl have to measure the width of this and measure the width of your std axle and see if you want to return it for a refund your more than welcome buddy.

Benn I was just saying to the wifey that they are just too high. I may be able to drop them by 2-3 cm but that's it. Did you get rid in the end ?

I bolted mine direct to the slider on the Nova subframe and they where to high and yeah, did a 150mile round trip and had the worse back ache.. Never got back ache from a car seat before. Removed them the next day.
Shame as they are a nice seat and you dont see many black pairs...

Im I'm going to persist and cut and weld mine I think. Its strange as calibra leathers are done often and don't seem to suffer from this.

ok so 3 months pass and i have got married, been on honeymoon acquired a second shed and finally done some work on the nova

bought a few parts including a tired and broken gsi bumper. the corners were split and it wasnbroken in other place so i tried my hand at plastic welding, its needs a tidy and the rest of the bumper sorting but hey its in one piece again.
