iv seen some people using some sort of mastic to strengthen the rubber on engine mounts what is it called and where can i get it from :)

Sickaflex/Tigerseal IIRC. Black sealant stuff. Bodyshop suppliers sell it.

Tigerseal is that the same stuff you use to glue side skirts on and other bits of trim
Yeah the very same. Polyurathene based sealant I think. Fill the gaps with that, try bodyshops or motor factors.
i'm not sure its better than simply buying a new mount, as the sealant, when hard, is not as hard as engine mount rubber.
I cut up an old poloy mount wedged it in my current ones and then glued it up with tiger seal spot on
