Hey guys. Im after some new 195/50/R15s for my saloon. Its more of a weekend car, so performance is predominant over longevity. I was thinking over Toyo Proxes T1-R's since Ive had them before in the past.
Where would be the cheapest place to buy them, does anyone know? Im not great on internet searching, but I am currently trying!
Thanks for any help...

camskill.co.uk are £32.50 each but have no stock at the moment. I tend to find they are cheaper than most places, occasionally someone beats them but i thnk they do a price match etc.

they have 195/45/16's which I need at £50.75 each which i think is pretty damn good! Its because they have clearance sales, unless you have been tryng to get your size from them for some time?

I found Camskill and Blackcircles to be cheapest but as said Camskill are a bit crap at having stock in so I usually use Blackcircles. Think you can save a bit if you use Quidco too.

My local tyre place seems pretty competitive, after you've added the usual £5-10 a tyre for fitting and balancing tyres bought elsewhere. Worth a few calls around.

If performance trumps mileage then I'd be looking at something nicer than T1Rs though?! R1Rs, R888s, etc?

R888's wouldn't be suitable for road driving though, would they? I thought they were road legal slicks?
Do you think there'd be much difference between ride comfort on 45's to 50's? My suspension is hard (-60mm springs and shocks) and I run 50 profile. But they do catch on the saloon arches occasionally (7in wide wheel). If I changed down to 45's to gain a smidge more clearance, would it trash what ride comfort Im getting from the 50's?

Quick fit! Get the best price on the net and they will match or better the price. I have done this many times. There was one time when they didnt have the tyres I wanted in stock so asked me to come back in 45mins as they had a taxi delivering them from another Quick fit garage!

Doesn't look like they make the Goodyear Eagle F1 anymore either. That was another tyre that I'd previously tried.
Black circles is also coming out more expensive than the TopGear Ebay seller.

My Tyres have Goodyear F1's

Looks like our suppliers at work have 20 in stock aswell(If you are talking about 195/45/16's) but they a little more expensive.

This. Demon Tweeks eBay tyre shop nearly always has a sale on.

If your after some really grippy road tyre rubber, I can highly recommend Yoko S Drives (£57.25 delivered from tweeks for a 195/45/16) Ive got them on my daily doing nearly 70 mile a day of enthusiastic driving in any weather, cant fault them.

But not in 195/50/R15 by the looks of it....

Its annoying when they discontinue good tyres. The 888 has 235/40ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sport's fitted but they are 10 years old now and the fronts are half worn and cracking in the tread. They have been long discontinued. The Pilot Sport 2's have now also been discontinued and our supplier has slashed the price and their stock was dissapearing fast so I bit the bullet and bought four!
I love Michelins but the price is extortionate, they were over £860 the set at trade price but I managed to get them for £540 :). Still pricey but a big saving.

Found an eBay seller whose doing them for £149 delivered, then a local tyre shop will charge a £10 a tyre for fitting/balancing.
The worst bit though is that Im only looking for tyres since skidding on standing water a whacking an alloy against a kerb. So now Im looking at buying a new alloy (£135), four new tyres (~£190), alignment (£30) and maybe a TCA also. This was a hard lesson to learn about driving too fast for the conditions.....

Oh, and trying to get all this sorted before Billing!

In case anyone cares, the best place to buy them from was www.allnewtyres.co.uk. I found them on eBay and they wanted £149 all in to deliver them. I rung them up and the guy directed me to the website rather than the eBay shop, which they were cheaper at £141 delivered. I ordered them in the morning and they turned up the next morning. Sorted :-)

Seeing as there are adverts on TV at the moment for Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, I imagine a lot of places must sell them.
