cleaning a dry sump tank

Hi all i was wondering if anybody had any veiws on how to do this? I'm quite certain nothing has been carried back to the tank as the oil came out before it got back to the engine so would flushing it through with diesel do it?
but ive been told the tank would have to be cut open to clean :confused:

I'd imagine derv or petrol would do the job.

traffic film remover, & steam cleaner, followed by a hot air gun (her hair dryer) to get the moisture out.
