as my new project will unfortunately be kept outside for a while, can anyone recommend a car cover?

I'm sure folk on another forum mentioned one from Argos that was about £15 iirc

Unless your planning on repainting the car I wouldn't put it under a car cover!

Its true that there is no way you can avoid scratching the car using a car cover. However, in my opinion, if its outdoors or in a leaky garage -it can be better undercover then completely exposed.
Ive no brand to recommend but an out-door breathable cover thats made from natural fibres (thickish, soft) and go a size or two bigger; so it doesnt hug the cars lines too much -you want to just throw a big 'blanket' over it really; itll only rest on the roof, mirrors and parts of the bonnet/boot, edges of wings - front and back.
Ide avoid those weatherproof/kagool-like covers from halfords and the like.

i'm picking up a rolling shell you see but the paint work is ok so i dont want to wreck it either

ooh.. nah i dont know, go and check it out - if its nice and soft, in a meduim say could be a goodun.
I meant the cheaper blue ones theyve been doing for years. Youll see what i mean if/when you go and look at them.

I use a breathable soft material on my track car. It does stop the water leaking in the car and if the car is wet, I have put it on and a the next dry day when I use the car...it is dry!

Yes, it has marked the paintwork but it is really windy up here and it is often a struggle to get the cover on as it is blowing everywhere. The scratching is light and would tcut out if I was bothered.

The cover was about £40 from a company called autosave which is a local version of halfords.

some of the people on the rally forum use that halfords cover and say it is very good, doesnt damage the paintwork too much and stays put in the winds. I have never used one tho so cant coment personally
