You not really going to get much softer than standard to be honest as they are quite low poundage.
the only springs softer than std are those little ones you find in clicky top pens
Any one know of 2 realy big clicky top pens:)
what poundage are standard springs
I've got a pair of mk1 escort springs that are mega soft that are surplus, £20. Pm me if thats any help.
will they fit the nova uprights
this is what im building http://s1074.photobucket.com/albums/w402/catmintco/?action=view¤t=racecar001.jpg
std escorts & novas have the same diameter spring platforms iirc
grass tracker??? is it that class that runs the 1.2 spi ??
you will be limited by using std nova struts, but apart from getting a spring poundage gauge, i don't know how to measure the std original springs... maybe your local gm dealer might be able to shed some light on it, or a decent motor factor with some really old parts books
Autograss runs a 1.2spi but there so light they dont even start to compress the standard spring.Have tried cutting some off the the spring then gasing it it to seat again but although the spring at least will compress abit it is still very stiff.
Have to run standard uprights so that limits things abit, but if escort springs are a straight fit that does give a few more options, there is a bit more data available on them.
try someone like ears motorsport, i think they are escort specialists... maybe see if you can send your original springs for testing
You 'can' use coil over springs on standard uprights but you may need to mod the top mount a little. I've seen people use them like that on rally cars for a one off different surface event to their usual season etc.
