ive replace my speedo cable but am hearing a orful rotating noise coming from it and ive tryed moving the cable about a bit but no better

Take the cable of the car and hang it in your shed over night with some oil put in the top to it runs through

mine did this, i soaked it in oil and greased it but still did the same, i got angry so snapped it. i must have removed it to and from the car over 100 times.
Mine was £11 from factors, never again !

what do u suggest getting a genuine cable or what cos i getting pissed off with mine

as everyone has said, oil and grease then make sure it is connected squarely at the speedo, with no turns in the cable as this stresses it and can also cause it to eventually snap.

Does it still make a noise if you unplug it from the clocks and drive it

I got a cheap on of the bay and it was noisy then snapped, didn't last a month.
Got a gm replacement (used) and still going strong.
