How long have you owned/driven your nova??

Ive owned my '91 SR for near enough 10 years now and have always had a nova as my main car. Ive had three novas as on the road cars in this time. Is this normal for a PNG'er or do I get extra PNG points for this?
My SR is now Rusting in Peace outside my garage, been replaced by a couple of saloons over the years. But alongside a work van, Ive always had a nova as my taxed, tested, insured car. Ive never owned anything other than a nova for the last 10 years.
It has been off the road for a month or three during engine conversions, but Im not counting these!
Even when I've fancied a different car, I can just never bring myself to sell them or buy anything else.....:cry:

Anyone else had a similar record? :confused:

Had mine 11 years now but not driven it in the last three. Had 4 XE Nova daily drivers but the last one died about 3 years ago.

Bought a few jap cars since and it has made me see the error of my ways over all those Vauxhall years.

I've always had a Nova, my first one was given to me by my Mum after she had owned it from 1991. I've had 4 of them, two at a time at one point, but I run a Celica as my daily these days. If I had a driveway or ideally a double garage, then I'd happily have another Nova instead. I haven't driven my Nova in two years, its been in bits that long, its been way too long since I drove a Nova!

I've had mine 6 months near enough. I had a few when I was about 19-21 years old and just picked this one up as I turned 30.

Had a mk1 SR for my first car, then on and off owned a fair few, amongst many other iconic cars, still seem to come back to a Nova though for some reason

Not had one as a daily for 7 years now, but the current one is always road legal so it can be driven at any time if the mood takes me.

I bought my 87 SR just before i turned 17 and I will be 30 in December. It has been locked up in a garage since i was 23 and it's just been put back on the road.

Had three in the last 18 months, killed one engine (after an absolute ton of abuse lol), second one died due to severe rust, and now been driving my current mark 2 for the past 8 months almost.

I've owned a Nova of some description since 1999. Passed my test in 2000, and drove one daily for 8 months or so. My dad forced me into selling up for a Peugeot 306. Bought the 306 and kept the Nova for a while. Eventually traded up to a 1.2 Merit, and then bought the start of my current fleet:
GSi - September 2005
SR - February 2009
Sport - March 2009
Flair -November 2009
TD - October 2010.

None have been or will be daily drivers though.

Although there has always been a Nova at our house since 1984 when my mum bought her first one!lol

ive owned my xe nova as a daily for the last 2 years, everything runs out in august tax, m.o.t etc and dont wether to reshell it or or do mine up as its very rusty :(

My first car at 17 was a Nova [18 years ago] for 3 years and I clocked up 80,000 on her lol, then had another when I was 24 which I spent a fortune on to be scrapped 5 years later... Then I had my last one for 5 years which I really miss and also spent silly money on.
I'm now Novaless and have been for over a year.

This sounds like an AA meeting for Nova owners lol

So the fact Ive had a nova taxed, tested and insured for nearly 10 years is quite a feat then? Or just crazy......!!! I get so attached to them that i just cant bear to part with them. As far as Im concerned, my nova doesnt cost much to run and doesnt depreciate so I'll never need to sell it.

Not used a Nova as a daily driver for a long time and wouldnt do it again :thumb:

Got my first Nova in 2000. So been driving them for 12 years.

Some folk have had the same Nova since the late 90's though (Andy Bishop, Karl Rowntree, Martin Kelson) - That's dedication!

I got my first when I was 18 and owned at least 1 ever since, I'm now 35 and still running parts on this one that I had on the first!

Also run a cally as my daily!
