Am I right in saying that this is a lorry from your area? I strongly believe the word 'Hinckley' can be made out on the top of the door... If so, anyone you know??

Probably is from Hinkley as its a JT Truck lol
That's pretty sh*t that they won't pay an extra 3k to clear the finance.

/\ this!
What a piss take !
Why pay out the landlord and not the victim ? Complete joke, I would be embarrassed if I owned that company
1. jb tool hire is a coalville based firm with a depot in hinckley.
2. considering the lorry was rolling slowly & only pushed in a bit of the wall, i reckon outsprinting it was not exactly difficult, and also, how did she see it, as where it came from had no window???
3. there is no way that £69000 of damage was caused to the house... 10k tops, more like 5k, it would have cost about 69K to replace the wagon.
4. this story is so badly reported, cos its obvious that insurance will be involved, and so will the public liability cover on the house damage, which is why its been propped up & boarded over in the pics.
What about the poor birds car and belongings tho !!!!!

If you where half way out the front door , then you seen the lorry coming towards the house, why on earth would you run back into the house? lol

I did wonder the same...panic does odd things to you though and you never know how you'd react in a situation like that.

Not being funny but the wagon has gone about 2feet max into the house. Yes I'm sure it was distressing but the story is totally exaggerated as usual. I agree with Mowgli that the damage claim is a load of rubbish. The landlord should receive any structural damage compensation and contents to the tenant. I am surprised that the car has not been covered though, which I thought the company would have paid for just out of decency if nowt else

And this.
Surely the insurance should cover ALL damages, seeing as it was the drivers fault.

To go and get her daughter out of the room the lorry was going to hit perchance?

The same daughter she was halfway out her front door with?
people. She is trying to cash in on this.. Whats the odds that the focus is really worth 3k? Or what she paid for it about 4 yrs ago? Like i said, the damage is not 69k, they could build & furnish a pair of semis for that. This is a non story.. If she was that scared, would she be stood inside her boarded up rented house?

It was you wasn't it? lol
no. The thing that confuses me is that when you leave the handbrake off & turn the engine off on a modern truck, there are buzzers & lights all over the place warning you.. And handbrakes on hgvs never fail, as their design means if all else fails, the brakes come straight on.
