Nope have a look in the articles of the guide

You'll need 22 spline shafts
Chassis leg modified
Engine
Engine loon
Gearbox
Strengthening kit
Conversion mounts

im not saying i wouldnt stichweld it as ive seen the pictures of cars when they start tearing them selfs apart but the metal plating kits isnt 100% needed

But if your going to the extent of stitch welding you may as well plate it

i would consider the 2ltr 8v engine conversion a budget one, and the added cost of 60-80 quid on plates a excessive amount when stichwelding would be adequate

I see what your saying but after the hassle of getting the engine bay sprayed after welding then fitting the 8v

Then in the future you want to upgrade

Plus some of the stitch welding is done around where the plates go which would need grinding out

thats why im stichwelding and plating for a xe, as i want to go turbo at some point :)

fitting an 8v is basicly the same as a 16v, 8v engine are pretty bulletproof engines and are quite sought after and pretty cheap

i have a 20seh with an autosprint cam p&p head and r1 carbs with megajolt, it can shift and would probably beat a standard 16v

with the money ive spent i could have built a quicker 16v though which is what im building now

Like the sound of that mate think I might buy some bits for the engine that's in it at the mo if I got my 1.6 8v Kent cams would that give me bit more power ?
