Astra mk2 GTE 16v front calipers-Different types

Hi ive heard there are two different types of front calipers ATE and some others.At looking at the calipers how can i tell the difference as ive heard the ATE are alot better.Thanks

ATE calipers should have 'Ate' imprinted on them, at least mine do anyway.

if the brakes are 256mm diameter, there is only the ate type....

on 236mm ones (8v only) there can be 2 different types, small ate, or delco. delco have 2 huge sliding sleeves hidden under knock on caps, and the caliper is 2 piece with 2 large bolts . delco ones are truly crap compared to ate ones.

Great cheers i carnt see a clear "ATE" on them there is a logo is this it or can u tell by the pic.

Early 8v Mk2 GTE's had 256mm discs and Delco calipers. I had a genuine disc & pad set for one I had cheap, just binned the pads and kept the 256x24mm discs for my ATE's
