Depends, if you boot it then you will not get as many miles as you would if you drove more steadily.
When i had my normal carb i got around 100 to a tenna but if i booted it i would get around 80. With my twin40s i get around 80 if i drive like a grandad and if i boot it sometimes 60.
Quick accel decreases your petrol and also accel around bends.
Look I don't mean to sound funny but do you not check your fuel guage before you run out?

1.3 Modded engine
Twin 40's
20pounds = 100 miles....... taking slowly :o
Petrol seems 2 go up without us realising, youd get more 4 your money a yr or 2 ago! so if u say a tenner, som1 may pay 67.9p a litre, som1 mite be paying 73.9p per litre! the prices are so different if i went less than 20 miles outa cardiff!

i measured my 1.2 on twin choke carbs and it gets 42mpg, and thats with me giving it a bit of welly.
saying ?20 gets u 100 miles isn't a fair statement as petrol prices vary by about 8 pence across the country.

I cant fill mine to the brim cuz i've got a leak in the petrol tank at the seame.
Why not just replace the fule sender unit as that's most likely the fault, no more guess work, no need for a can, no need to keep it full.............

If I take it very easy I can get 10-12 miles off a ?1 in the Saxo
The best the Landy does off a ?1 is about 2-3 miles, but as it's got carb problems atm and I don't know how much it does these days.

i usually do about 340-390 miles to a full tank (?26) in the clio...
The nova did about 10p per mile.
Most people would say about 10p per mile on a standard engine i think... form what i remember of posts like this before.

My standard GSi used to do around 330 to a full tank (about ?30 worth back then).
But the last fill up has lasted nearly 2 years- Bargain!!!
My rally car does 80 miles per tank. And yes is still has the standard 8 Gallon tank fitted! That's 10 mpg.
lol - almost as bad as a Bently
Bently nova!
Mine used to do 400 (1.2 standard) on a full tank then I messed with it and changed the engine to 1.4 with weber and it does about 300 now on a full tank but its not set up right so when that sorted and I've messed some more prob about 200!

My fuel gauge used to often not work, then every now and again it would. i thought it would of been the sender but i fitted a digi dash before i got round to fixin the sender, and it now works. Must of been the gauge. ?

I have a 1.2 and i get about 135 out of ?10. I sometimes put ?8 in and 2 in a can so i can judge exactly.
I worked it out and i'm getting 44 mpg.
I usually only go to about 100 miles then top it up. But after a few times doing this it builds up if you now what i mean?? Thats when i do my test with a ?2 in a can and sometimes find i can do about 200 miles cos of all the petrol still in when i topped it up!!
