Have you thought about bike clocks?

There's a few different styles available and they only need to pick up on a stud head.
I mounted my last speed sensor to the rear wheel, stub axle bolt heads.

Are the vx220/ stack clocks a complete ball ache to get working 100%?

Not really. I managed to get mine working ok. Transducer is needed for the speedo along with a PCB board (got mine form Dom on MIGweb) and thats about it IIRC. All the wiring diagrams are available online. A basic understanding of electronics helps lol which i lack!

Other than looking cool, any other upsides or downsides for that matter?
can i be the first to point out that having a carbon dash, then getting it flocked is, imho, a bit odd....
keep it carbon, it will always look cool.

You can, main one for me is my eyes struggle with sun and even driving at night, the glare, i ware glasses with coatings on to help
i took dash out to weight so i knew the weight of the mk1 and mk2 dash and save weight in my track nova, but i dont like it with no dash finding it hard to place bits, looking a mess, and the weight of a carbon one (2kg) and even once flocked is alot lighter and easier for me to place bits i need, i wouldn't want a carbon dash bare or glossy finish myself unless it was a show car, mine definitely isn't, the glare would be way to much for me so it will be flocked to help and because i like them
hope that explains it ? lol

I've read a few times that the fuel sender is a pain, was this easy to sort in the end?

lol forgot about that!
Yeah, it reads in reverse. All i did in the end was wired in a fuel gauge from an old set of clocks i had.
lol I suppose that isn't the end of the world as long as you don't forget that full = empty

Yeah, but when it starts reading, 16l, 20l 9l lol i had no idea how much fuel i actually had. So bodged a gauge.

Quality! Bit of lateral thinking sorted it :thumb:
