my birds corsa was reversed into by a moron driving her husbands range rover

the husband of said moron wants to go through the insurance, now i know that will have a negative affect on the cost come renewal time, but what I'm mainly worried about is the corsa being written off and if it is what will that mean to me and my bird?
are we going to end up out of pocket?
what happens to the corsa?
why am i so tempted to put a brick through the range rovers windscreen? lol
any help would be great guys never had to deal with anything like this before :thumb:

Sorry to see that mate:(, Really depends on the age of the car and cost(i.e car value to cost of repair). If it still drives ok, and is safe to use(they should of asked when you called) the insurance loss adjuster will come out and view, or they will ask you to take it to a approved body shop for assesment. Go's from there really. If it is a loss, it could be catd or catc. You may be able to buy back, and carry on using if its a d, or it will need a vic for cat c. Think thats right. Been a little while!
Like you say, effects your insurance come renewal time, even though it was nothing to do with you. Rubbish:mad:
if they write it off, it'll make a fine track day car
A claim on someone elses insurance for which you're in no way to blame for shouldn't affect your insurance price at all.

I was told that even if you had a non blameworthy claim, your still statisticly more likely to have another accident within a year.
Thats why your premium goes up, regardless if was your fault or not. Thats why they ask you about accidents blameworthy or not in the last 5 years when you get your quotes.
rear card off, lie on the seat, push like hell with your feet :)

None fault claims dont most of the time. Some companies are just plain ghey & hike the price up for the hell of it.
TJ, that'll be a write off Cat D or C. When they contact you regarding payout, ask them how much theyll payout if you keep the car. Normally they subtract scrap value from the payout. Bearing in mind I once bought a Nova back from an insurance company for the "scrap value" which was £30 in 2004.

thats about the only time nova's unwantedness is usefull lol
Do not let it leave your driveway or car parking space!
If his insurance get Dickish just instruct a management company to deal with it.
If you are lucky it will be total lossed but not hip recorded :)
Insurance cos do load a on faulted incident regardless of what the broker says :(
