hi, my engine is smoking blue smoke iv been told that it coulde be the turbo
or piston rings is there any way of telling wich one thanks

could also be valve stem seals !!

Does it clear at higher RPM?
If its smoking all the time it will most likely be the turbo - if its doing it under load its the rings, if its doing it on overrun or on first start-up its the stem seals...
Thats the basics and there are loads of variables!
Pop your head up under the turbo and you'll see if the seals have gone cause oil will be leaking out of the housing,
You could unbolt the turbo from the block and leave it piped up,
And see if it's still smoking then, of not the turbo needs a recon

i fixed it i put a new acturer on the turbo and its fine no smoke know strag one that but novas for you
thats the craziest smoke fix ive ever herd of loll

that is madness lol
Lol - very unlikely to be the actuator. Prob just burning oil off that had 'seaped' into the exhaust...
