View Full Version : Oil pump 20XE - what is this?

OK I thought the relief valve was in the big hole/bolt at the front of the pump, when you're facing the car from the front

Just removed the large bolt next to the original oil pressure switch/sensor and found this:

iv never undon the rear bolt tho, i may go n undo my spare pump now lol

Yep got that bad boy with spring in the front as per norm

I did get the pump cleaned up and prepped to bolt on, but this must be the only bolt I haven't undone on the car, I don't like finding things I haven't seen before lol

The relief valve is the front 24mm (iirc) nut,(in Pies pic) no clue what the rear one is tho.

Looks like the thermostat out of the standard oil cooler sandwich plate.

Ah sweet, must have undone the bolt on the sandwich plate and not the oil pump which is whats confusing me lol
