Looking to get oversized pistons for the LET either 86.5 or 87 depending on the current bore measurments.

Need to know what brands are good and what to stay away from and where to get a set at good price (as 'good' as poss).

Forged mahles or omegas will do nicely. If I remember correctly though omegas start at 87mm and are a popular choice with people opting for good power. Either are available from steveboyslim at good prices and he can machine them to lower the compression ratio further should you want to.

Let pistons come 87mm max, omega/accralite are one of the best imo, omega bought accralite a few years bak, but trade as 2 seperate names.

Looking at about 460 a set of forged pistons with rings + pins.

86.5mm also £490 per set, less for Mahles.
You need to ensure cylinder bores will 'clean' at 86.5mm or you may need 87mm.
Sizes quoted are finished bore size.
Bore clearance is incoperated in the finish machining of the pistons.
Omegas have a bigger bowl and deeper valve cutouts than the Accralites, Mahles are as standard only 0.5mm larger bore diameter.

I'll be getting the bores measured to see if 86.5mm is best or 87mm.

Steve, do the Mahle sets come with rings and pins or just pistons? Price?

All come with rings pins and clips.
