i enjoy reading about nova's and so i just thought i'd make a thread :P

My favourite memory is being a passenger in my brothers nova and everyone reconising him because he was the only person to own one were i live (as i know of )

Being chased for 15 miles by a undercover MV6 omega on the A39 in my XE, then losing them down lanes

Parked up in a notorious layby, bollock deep in some dirty bird I was seeing and having the cops pull right up beside tapping on the window and asking what im doing !!

when my mate had a nova 1.2 he started to mod it and my over mate had a mint gte but one day the gte got crashed in to by some div in a bmw so the engnie from the gte went in to the red 1.2 nova we striped it out painted the engine red took it for a drive and we just smiled everu day till he sold it .
the over one is when my mate had a 1.4 sri and changed it to a redtop got in it one day and never fort i would see a nova go so fast from them times being in the novas i had to get one but i never stop buying them lol

When you bear in mind i've been driving them since 1986, i have been through a lot of things....

And a lot of them i would not want to commit to a public forum for legal reasons.

There is:

Tonning it up the autobahn on the way from dusseldorf to spa in belgium when the heavens opened & my drivers side wiper decided to fail.... Big sphincter moment

then, heading back from an almighty pissup at speed with my missus driving when it coughed, spluttered & put the no.2 top piston ring out the exhaust, she shouts 'its ok, its cleared' and carried on... That cost me £300 to fix

seeing my brother the day after he'd been out in my first nova with the girl who is now his wife, and he was walking with a limp.. I got in the car to see the passenger seat right back & the adjuster in bits, basically, he'd cracked his knee on it whilst giving her one... I still reckon my nephew was conceived in that car

lol classic, i've had the same thing with the wiper, although my whole wiper arm sheared off when i was on a busy duel carriageway at 70mph with the heavens opened, definately needed a change of underwear after that incident!

Think another best moment was i did a back fire in the middle of chelmsford high street on a busy sat night, and this was so loud, and i see some tart full on dive behind a road sign on the floor into a puddle, i nearly crashed with laughter lol.

First enthusiastic drive in the new nova xe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time i drove my 1.3SR after passing my test. Was amazing.. The racing a Golf down the motorway in it.. Missing the juc i wanted.

First time i drove my first XE powered Nova, so much fun it was unreal, leaving a gf at the time in a VR6 golf behind when only giving it light death...

Having sex with a unbelieveable hot girl in my Nova now in the NEC car park..

First drive in a let Nova, using 3/4 of a tank of fuel in about 20mins.. Leaving a porka Boxter s in the dust, for him to moan about "racing" a shi**y Nova and losing big time to a guy he worked with who rung me right away to tell me as he's a mate.

First time I took my XE Nova to Crail and just beating an Escort cosworth down the 1/4 mile 3 times in a row. We passed the finish line literally bouncing with me and my mate jumping up and down like idiots beside ourselves with glee.

Then the second best was said Escort parking up and not running for the rest of the day. I felt 'epic' lol

i once got a slap from an mg metro driver, when i was 4 up in my bog std 1200 merit going up a B road near oxford & he simply couldn't get past me for about a mile, then when we got to the straight he went by, and at the end of the road,blocked the road off by parking in the middle & tried to give me a bollocking... the problems started when i pointed out that i didn't know we were meant to be racing as i was taking my gf & my mate & his gf to a pub for lunch and if i was racing him, he'd definitely not have passed me..so he hit me... bit of a bitch slap really... so we laughed & left, then reported him to the police.

Had a blast back from a rallycross meeting at croft giving the poor nova hell down the back lanes to my house.Got out the car and went to open the garage only to turn around with my dad yelling that the car was on fire.The brakes had cried enough and had set fire to themselves.That taught me not to be such a cheapskate and use scrapyard discs and cheap pads.

On another occasion I was upto stuff with a lady:d and a car came through the layby on main beam illuminating me and said lady, after a minute or so I lit his car up with 400 Watts +

To find it was a Police car with the traffic commander on board, I got a right ticking off from him, it didn't help as I had recited the Highway code to him concering dazzling other road users with their head lightlol

Having a flat-out on the redline in 5th gear dual carriageway burn up with an MR2 turbo & a BMW Z3 coming back from a PNG weekend years ago. Got the thumbs up & nod from them when they turned off.

Driving my old 1.2 to & from Uni every weekend. happy days.

When driving to and from work was fun. Driving down country lanes in the Sport with the sound of the carbs and the illumination of many Cibies on the dark nights & mornings :)

Passenger in my mates black D plate 1.3SR, he used to run it on octane booster and had an unknown cam in it. Nothing could keep up with him round the twisty's be it RS turbos, R5 Turbos, Charade GTTi's etc. He was a bit of a nutter of a driver though.

Losing it on a bend due to a change to cheap tyres(Never bought cheap tyres again) and watching a Mk2 Cav come hurtling round the bend whilst I was stationary facing the wrong way lol

Picking up my first Sport and driving it back from Caterham to Derby via Wales to have a look at another Sport on the way. The Sport decided to throw an electrical wobbler and started doing random things. The hazzard switch turned the radio on and off, the radio was working the lights and the central locking had a mind of its own. The first job when I finally got home was to rip out the alarm, radio and various other electrical items and rewire it properly before it burst into flames!

Many more I can't think of.

Had some fun times in my Mini too. Me in my Mini and three friends, them in two mini's and a Nissan Sunny(Don't ask!) deciding to go all Italian Job. Drove through an open shopping centre and through a pedestrian underpass then popped out the other side outside a big bingo hall. The look on the old biddies faces was priceless.

Filling the speedo in the GSI whilst my brother sat, white as a sheet, pushing himself further and further down the passenger seat. ( obviously on one of the many private roads everyone has access to on car forums. Certainly not on the A1 duel carriageway between Dromore and Banbridge at around 2 in the morning in the summer of 2007.)
