Last saturday I have installed some electric windows into my Mk1 merit. They are working a treat but I have a question about the switches.

I have wired the windows up to a live supply so that I don't need the key to work the windows. However the switches appear to have a light on them which is always on cause they always have power.

Does anyone know if there is a wire which controls these lights that I could connect to either the ignition or light switches so that they are not on all the time?

Cheers

Cause I want to wire them to my alarm, so that I have a 'total closure' system (i.e. windows wind up when alarm is activated). That means that they need to be live without the ignition on.

I think if you wire them through the alarm, the alarm will provide the power to close the windows - cutting the power once they are closed (time delayed).

Summut like that.
