Can anyone suggest somewhere i can get some springs made up for the back of my mk4 astra, i was going to get some from mr dommyp, but his place has ceased trading, i have a pair of his up front and im really happy with them, but the ones i have on the back arent weighted right for my car and are gradually being squished by the weight of my car and my ice (lol) so i need some proper astra weighted ones but i cant find any to match the height of my fronts, and it seems silly spending £300 on a set of coilovers, when i only need the springs for the back:cry:

Any suggestions welcomed, and yes ive looked on google and cant seem to turn any sites up that can give me a price!

Wasn't there someone on here making them? Or was dommy?

That was dommy Mazz, and dont be silly Andy, im on about the rears and chopping the rears has to be the single most stupid thinkg anyone can do, barring trying to change front springs without compressors lol

And besides, if my current springs are too low, then how would cutting them smaller help :p

you just undo the main top mount nut and then jack the car up, and then lower the car onto the new springs...

But the only astra springs i have are the ones that are on, plus like i say, cutting them is 150% pikey as they have nothing to sit in at one end and are a million times more likely to fall out on enthusiastic driving lol

Edit, found their website already Mazz, how the funk do you find prices?

Probably have to phone them tbh

This made me chuckle

Need it on proper astra springs, as its just on generic adjustable rears, but theyre not strong enough for the weight of the car and are slowly compressing, it was low when they were fitted, its now stupidly low at the back, so needs to be raised slightly!

This is how its sitting currently...

If they're adjustable there is no problem here, close thread lol

Worth giving someone like Gaz a ring and see what they can sell/make you?

Theyre adjustable for rideheight, but not weight, theyre too soft and bottom out/are sagging, i can raise them up but soon enough theyre going to sag to they point where they fail, id like to replace them before they get to that stage, and i didnt know gaz do custom applications, but wont they be vastly expensive aswell, remember this is my daily and not my money pit, so i dont want to spend money on the astra, that could be better spent on bilsteins or bike carbs for the nova!

vectra springs the same? something a bit thicker like. (same theory as nova springs and corsa van springs)

Wouldnt have thought so from memory no, i dont want to make springs from another car 'fit' i want to buy proper springs for my car, ive even resorted to looking at cheap coilover kits on the bay, they might not be the best but if theyre actually made for an astra then they should be weighted right, went to take my rents to pub in it tonight and with just two passengers in the car, the rear springs were bottoming out and smacking on the chassis legs on everything but the smallest of road bumps, given the state of our local roads that aint good and needs sorting asap!

I have some custom 350lb rear nova springs that didn't work on mine. Might work nicely with the adjusters? Could bring them to Billing for you to try them. Could end uo going the other way and being too stiff. lol

Normal nova springs wont work, the pig tail is too narrow to sit over the lug on the chassis leg, one side is much fatter than the other one so they wouldnt fit, they would be of no use to me at billing either as im not going lol
